The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

Battle of Five Armies

The final installment for the film adaptation of The Hobbit, The Battle of The Five Armies, will be out this December. Originally a two part movie, with the second installment titled “There And Back Again”, Jackson added 2 more feature films(The Desolation of Smaug and The Battle of the Five Armies) adding yet another trilogy to The Lord of the Rings franchise. Additional scenes had to be filmed last year which is why Jackson announced that he had been locked up editing the movie this April. The fight for Erebor will conclude for the UK on December 7th, and on December 14th for the US. An extended version of Desolation of Smaug was also announced to be in the works.

Ubisoft Clears The Air With Assasin’s Creed Rogue Trailer

Assasin's Creed Rogue

Earlier last week some people had been bickering over the internet about leaked information on the 2nd Assasin’s Creed game Ubisoft had promised to release this year, this was even prior to E3. Luckily this trailer came just in time to quell the debates, sadly though this game was only announced for last gen.

Assasin’s Creed Rogue will put you in the shoes of Shay Patrick Cormac, an Assasin turned Templar, tasked to hunt down his former brethren. The intriguing story might be the hook in this game as it will provides insight into the perspective of the Templars.

Assasin’s Creed Rogue will be out November 11 this year for PS3 and Xbox 360.

The Suicide Team

Assault on Arkham, the newest animation film from one of our most loved heroes is nearly here and no wonder “Crap! It’s Batman!” is on every fanboy’s (and fangirl’s) lips. The film will be available August 12 of this year so be sure to keep your sights on it as it promises to be a good one.

This short clip from Cosmic Book News shows just how good the fight scenes promise to be and what a clip it is: Batman coming in and out of shadow, zipping in and out of combat and giving those who stand against him a reason to say “Crap! It’s Batman!”

Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno

Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno is going to be the first of the 2 part continuation of the live action translation of Samurai X. The second part Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends – which sounds like, but we hope won’t be(no more live action movies?), based on the sad OVA finale to the animation series – Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection will come a month later.

One dangling debate hanging around the sequel(s) is if this strategy spears from want of profit for Warner Bros(The first film raked in $37 million locally) or effort to keep the integrity of the Shishio Makoto story line which spanned almost 34 episodes. We believe the later – Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno will be released in Japan on August 1, 2014 while Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends will immediately be released on September 1, 2014.

We hope more dates are announced soon for the rest of us.

Manila “Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno” – August 20, 2014, “Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends” – September. 24, 2014.
